Where does the time go????
Today our little baby is a half a year old! We just keep looking at him, so in awe of our miracle. He is such a gift and we love him so much. We are loving being parents and watching him grow. He has grown so much in just six short much and is doing new ‘firsts’ every single day. We are the luckiest parents on earth to have such a sweet wonderful little babe.
Here’s Cooper showing off his two bottom teeth, which are really starting to come in now.
Cooper had a good day (minus his little cold which doesn’t seem to bother too much) hanging out with his dad, mom, and nana.
The he went to his pediatrician appointment! And we found out all his new stats:
Weight: 18 pounds, one ounce (50-75th percentile)
Height: 26 and 3/4 inches (50-75th percentile)
Head Circumference: 42.5 (50th percentile)
He showed off for her by screaming, blowing bubbles, sitting up and pushing up on all fours.
She said he’s doing great and is just perfect! Of course we already knew that. She also said he is ahead in his motor development and it won’t be long before he is crawling so to get our baby gates up. We’re already one step ahead of her.
Cooper got 1 oral vaccine, and 2 injections and only cried for a couple seconds. As soon as daddy started to sing the itsy bitsy spider, he stopped and smiled.
Poor little Cooper has the sniffles for his six month birthday. He’s been teething and now he’s also getting a little cold. But even though he’s a little under the weather, and fusses and rubs his little eyes, he also still loves to play to squeal and blow his bubbles.
And in honor of his 6 month birthday, he is tried food for the first time tonight! It’s hard to believe he’s grown so big on just milk alone, but today is the day for a big new first! Rice cereal! And even though mommy is a bit sad about the transition, she’s also excited and can’t wait to see her little get his first taste of solid food!
We had one teaspoon of rice cereal to four teaspoons of breastmilk, so it was really watered down and runny, just the way the pediatrician told us to start him.
He seemed to like it right away. We started the first couple bites on mommy’s finger, and then progressed to the spoon. Cooper ate it right up and even reached out for the bowl urging us MORE MORE MORE!
Then Nana bought 3 cupcakes for dessert in honor of Cooper’s birthday. Too bad Cooper is still too young to enjoy them, but we sure did!
It’s also papa’s birthday today too!!!! So Cooper wanted to send a big shout out to him at the 2010 Olympics. “Happy 69th birthday papa! I love you papa – and can’t wait to see you soon!!!”
What a great day for Cooper. And yes, we took a video of Cooper eating his first bite of food, which we will post tomorrow – stay tuned…..
Great pictures and video.
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting them on.
