Mommy and Daddy are Home from Denver!

Cooper did great on his first stay away from mommy and daddy.   Nana took great care of him, and he did so good.  I think nana and Cooper were both happy to have us home though!

And nana stayed on for the rest of the week to help out while mommy tried to rest and not lift Cooper.

Cooper had a quick visit to the dentist, just to try the chair and let them look in his mouth, during Daddy’s appointment.  I can’t say he was too crazy on the whole thing.  But at least he’s seen it now.

Cooper and Nana's Big Adventure

Cooper's fever broke after 10 days, but he still has the cough and is just not 100%.
He was really looking forward to going back to Denver but we just couldn't bring him the way he was feeling, so it's Cooper and Nana's big adventure in Kincardine for the next 5 days while Mommy and Daddy head back to Denver to pick up the 2 frozen embryo brother and sister.
Have fun you two!

Cooper has Tonsillitis!

No wonder he’s been so sick!    So it’s a good thing we took him, because she started him on antibiotics right away.   The bad news is that  he may not be able to fly with us and Wednesday. The doctor said it will take 7-10 days for it to clear, even though we should start to see improvement within 3. But she does not recommend we fly with him if he has a fever, sore ears because of cabin pressure, and simple because he could catch other things from the airplane because his resistance is low.

Cooper’s 9 Day Fever

Today is the ninth day of a fever for Cooper – that will not go away.

We took Cooper to the doctor on day 3, but the doctor said he was just sick with a bad cold, he didn’t look as though he had an infection and the fever would break very soon.

On Day #7, we took Cooper to the Emergency room because he still had the fever (and cough).  The doctor immediately diagnosed him with tonsillitis, saying his throat is red and covered in white spots and his ears are inflamed and sore.

Today is day #9 – he’s been on antibiotics for 2 days now and he still has a fever.  It broke for about 4 hours this afternoon, but it was back by bedtime.

If the fever still persists by tomorrow at 5pm our doctor wants him back at emergency.

Our poor little Cooper.

And what’s worse is that his mommy and daddy and him and nana were supposed to fly out to Denver on Wednesday morning for the very important embryo transfer.   It looks like Cooper will not be able to fly at this point – and we will have to leave him for 5 days.  The thought of leaving him that long is so difficult, but we are trying to take one day at a time for now.  And just hope he is feeling better in the morning.

We love you Cooper.  It has been so heartbreaking to see you like this.   Please get better soon.  Your mom and dad.

Ringing in The New Year

Cooper rang in the New Year with some snow and had his first sleigh ride of the year.

And all of a sudden the storm begins!

That night we broke down Cooper’s gingerbread house – and he got to eat a piece before we threw it out.   He had fun banging it down!

Cooper went to a big party with lots of his little friends and mom’s and dad’s on New Year’s eve and came home to bed early.    Thankfully he didn’t know the difference.  But he still loved yelling HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Until next year, Gingerbread house.  Happy New Year – 2012!
