Cooper Goes to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics!

Cooper, mommy, daddy, and nana all drove down to see Papa at the Olympics this weekend! And Uncle Chris and Grace flew in and met us there the next day. Minus the fact that Cooper was fighting his first (very sad) cold --- it was such a thrill to be there and experience the vibe and pride of the city at it’s best. The weather was fantastic, the sun was bright, the sky was blue, and Vancouver was packed with wall to wall people --- and a sea of red. Canadian pride was definitely in the air! And it was so exciting to get to see Papa a part of it all – Cooper can’t wait to hear stories about it one day.

He was such a good baby driving up in the car, walking downtown through the massive crowds (so was Phin!), and for the first game. He slept most of the time (through all the crowds, loud cheers, and even bangs and cowbells!) in his sling and daddy wore him close to his heart. And when he was awake for the game, he looked around in awe at the flags and people cheering and squealed with delight! Unfortunately he coughed the whole night and was out of sorts for day #2. He cried through most of the second game he saw and mommy bounced him in the back hallways to sooth him down. And then he cried most of the way home in the car. Poor little guy. But all in all, for being sick, he sure managed to have lots of fun and enjoy the experience. We sure were happy to go, but also happy to come home and get Cooper back into his own bed.

Check out some of the pictures from our fantastic trip!
