This week Cooper has started to smile and coomuch more and seems to recongnize us! He's really responding to our voices and our smiles and is making great eye contact with his mom and dad. He's also smiling at rattles and toys, and especially loves to be kissed.
Cooper Smiles Video:
His eyes are starting to change color. At first they were a solid dark blue, but now the center ring is starting to lighten up. We're not sure what color his eyes will end up being... brown, green or blue. Daddy thinks brown, but mommy thinks green or blue. Lisa has brown eyes, Dave has green eyes, so if Cooper does end up with blue eyes it will be after both his grandpa's -- who both have blue eyes. That would be quite fitting for our little Cooper Peter James.
He loves hanging out on the floor, looking around, and being talked too.
And he loves to cuddle up on the couch with us for some good 'ol bonding time.
He's becoming more and more facinated with his ocean floor mat, and really staring hard at all the dangling pieces and flashing lights. He hasn't reached out for any of them yet, but I would say by the looks of it, he's thinking about it.
He just loves to be with us, and takes his naps in his basinet or on the couch close beside us.
Here he is having a little snuggle in bed with mom one morning.
Grandma bought Cooper this adorable little gap tracksuit we just couldn't wait to put on. It was the perfect fall day for it as we headed out for a walk.He still loves going for walk in his pram, where he can lay out flat, but I imagine it won't be long before he outgrows it and wants to sit up. For now though, he prefers to sleep rather than watch the world go by.
We also got out our baby bjorn this week, so that Cooper can still be close to us, but also try sitting up and seeing a bit of the world. His head is protected and it's a good way for him to learn to hold it up, while still being completely supported. He seemed to really like it, for the few minutes he stayed awake for it! Cooper put on his first pair of shoes for the walk.
Here he is on walk number two, wearing the cute hat that Aunt Kim knit for him!
Afterwards, he likes to relax in his swing -- look how much bigger he's getting in this thing!
He's getting bigger on his change table too, and loves hanging out there before we change him. He talks and coos and laughs and has so much fun. He really loves being changed!
Cooper is getting better and better at enjoying his tummy time. At first he cried and hated it. He couldn't hold his head up at all, but he's been doing a lot of practicing and just look at him go! He bobs up and down like a wee little bird. Make that, a strong little bird!
