We weren’t sure if we should put up a tree or get into the Christmas spirit this year. Everything feels so different now that Grandma is gone. And we miss her so much, Christmas feels too sad this year… but after thinking about it for a while, we decided that grandma would want us to decorate and put up a tree. She loved changing her house decorations for all the seasons and she especially loved Christmas! So I know she was looking down proud of us that we decided to deck the halls. She would have wanted us to do it for Cooper’s sake. And you know what – she was right – Cooper had so much fun and loves seeing all the Santa’s and snowmen and trees.
Here’s our little guy enjoying the snow. It’s funny to watch because he can’t walk too far without falling down. This snowsuit and deep snow is hard work!
Okay Cooper, let put up the decorations.
Cooper found a jingle bell.
And he rang them and rang them and rang them.
Mommy and Daddy and Grandpa put on some Christmas music, had roasted Chestnuts and hot chocolates while we decorated. And here’s Cooper having a taste of the roasted Chestnuts – they are nice and soft – his first nut!
Hanging up a Christmas Decoration.
Building his snowman block.
Watching the big boys climb on ladders.
And up goes the tree!
Watching Daddy shovel snow outside…
Daddy and Grandpa putting up the bird feeders… grandpa’s excited to show Cooper the birds this winter.
The tree is up!
Hey wait a minute – what’s this?! I’m a Christmas reindeer!
Decorating the tree….
Putting up the lights and garland.
And here’s the two ornaments that we bought in remembrance of Grandma this year.
It’s hanging next to the ornament that we bought for Cooper’s first Christmas. Such a happy Christmas that was.
We love you Grandma. We hope you are looking down smiling at all our decorations. We know we are!
