We were so nervous to strap Cooper into his car seat and drive from Kinardine straight through to Siesta Key – 23 hours! But we decided to give it a shot. What could go wrong? A toddler, a dog, 3 wary adults, and a car packed to the brim. But Cooper was a star, and did so much better than we could have hoped. Thank god for his DVD’s (Einstein and baby Sesame are still the big hits!). So we put his shows on the IPAD and had a marathon viewing session. What a good boy so was!
The weather, on the other hand was ATROTIOUS! Snowing all the into GEORGIA! And raining almost all the way to Siesta Key after that. In fact, the snow storm was so bad, that we ended up having to stop in Tennessee for about 5 hours overnight and get a room until morning.
I think Cooper (And all of us!) liked the chance to stretch our legs.
Even Phin was happy to be tucked in for the night.
We had breakfast and then hit the road again --
The snow continued to fall…
Phin was a superstar! (A big exception to his normal hyper panting all the way!)
Are we really in Georgia? Because it seems to me we haven’t even left Kincardine yet. Check out the snow!
Along the way, instead of stopping to change Cooper’s diapers in a MacDonald’s. We opted to pull off at hotels like the Comfort Inn. We just waltzed in, pretended we were guests, let Cooper stretch his legs running up and down the halls (Which he LOVED), used the restrooms, used the microwave to heat his bottle, and then hit the road again. It was great!
Our little monkey watching his videos and getting ready for bedtime.
And finally! At about midnight, we pulled into Siesta Key and straight into our rental unit.
Cooper was excited to be here – can you tell?!
