Well he’s walking of course! Probably about 10 steps at a time before falling down. He’s really starting to get his balance and he’s turning into a toddler before our eyes. He’s getting all set for his one year old birthday, but perfecting his moves before his big party.
So what else is Cooper doing at 11 months old? Let’s see….
- He’s funny. And dramatic. He likes making sounds and funny faces and is very dramatic about everything. It’s sooo cute!
- He stands all by himself, not pulling up on anything, and then walks (or should i say toddles).
- He climbs in and out of his wooden lawn chair and sits down. He opens and closes doors. He opens and closes cupboards. he puts toys in and out of boxes.
- He’s trying to talk! He’s trying hard to repeat words and communicate to us. None of his words are totally clear, but he’s now saying: momma, dada, dog, duck, done, ball, book, dat?(as in pointing and asking: what’s that?), clock, and trying to repeat many many others.
- He’s pretty much eating all big people foods now (cut up of course to avoid choking) except, milk, eggs, and sugar. He’s enjoying his food so much and loving tasting all kinds of new things. He especially like toast – with vegetable spread. And still loves his fruit, berries of all kinds are a hit right now! He loves sitting in his high chair and eating with the family and announces loudly (though he never really wants to be) that he’s ALL DONE when his bowl is empty.
- He’s not breastfeeding at all during the day anymore. Just at night before bed, and when he wakes up in the middle of the night. Yes, he’s STILL not sleeping through the night, but mommy’s milk is starting to dry up, so he’s not getting much at all during his middle of the night feeding, so I have a feeling that’s (hopefully) on the way out soon! He’s now drinking formula when he wakes up in the morning and before his lunch time nap.
- He’s waking up around 7 and hanging out in bed with mommy cuddling and talking until 8am, where he gets up, watches his baby einstien (farm animals, zoo animals, and sea animals are a big hit right now!) and drinks his bottle. He’s having a nap around noon, usually for between 1-2 hours. And he’s not usually having his afternoon nap anymore either, unless he slept on the short side for his noon time nap. He’s going to bed around 8:30 and still loves his routine of books with daddy before his nighttime feeding and being tucked in.
- He’s really starting to understand things people say now. I think he understands so much, and basic commands like pick it up and put it in the box. Or, where’s the horse? He will point and laugh. He really seems to understand a lot of words and loves when you ask him questions and point things out and tell him what they are. He loves the ‘what’s that?’ game.
- He’s into horses, ducks, cows big time. He loves pointing to the horses that live beside us and wants to show everyone who comes over. He also loves making the mood sound for cow (okay, he makes it for horse too). And he loves going into the bathroom to look into the tub at his rubber ducks, and announcing and pointing – DUCK!
- He LOVES cars right now and is having fun making them go across the floor. He loves saying broooom brooooom, and roooooaaaaar rooooaaaar as plays. He’s a TOTAL boy!
- He loves looking out the window and watching cars and he loves when people come to visit. He loves seeing other kids too and enjoys interacting and watching them. He seems fascinated by older children (by a few years) and wants to play with them all the time.
He’s changing and growing so quickly and he’s so much fun. We can’t believe he’s on his way to his first birthday and we’re having fun getting ready for his big party. We just love him so much and are sad that he’s growing so fast, but are so proud of him and love watching him change and grow. He really is amazing and we are so extremely lucky to have him in our lives.
Loves playing with water…
Peeks! This game never gets old.
Enjoys his walks and people watching.
Likes his trips to the park – but still doesn’t like the swings.
Here is his new BIGGER play yard. He needs more space now to walk around so we added more panels.
Flushing the toilet is really fun.
So is checking out my rubber ducks.
He’s not supposed to touch – but he can’t help himself. What’s inside there???!
Kissing himself in the mirro.
Walking in his favorite room.
Loves climbing on his chair.
Walking is FUN!
Getting tired.
A little meltdown – I think it’s time for my nap!
Playing with my cars.
Being funny.
Walking with hands up.
Baby Feet.
11 months and growing strong. Ready to explore the whole wide world.
But still not growing very much hair. lol!
