What’s Cooper Like At 10 Months Old?

IMG_3019

- He communicates through sign language --- he signs for “milk”, “more” (When he’s eating food), waves “bye bye”, shakes his finger “no”, puts his palms up in the air for “I don’t know”.  He knows the sign for “drink” but he doesn’t do it yet, among a handful of others.

- Cooper understands what we are saying a lot of the time, such as “do you want to go for a walk?” Or “Would you like some milk?”   “Is it time to go night night?” “Do you want to get your bum changed?”  And he’ll make a little laugh sound for “Yes”

- Cooper has rhythm.  He dances (bobs up and down) every time music comes on!  It’s so cute the way he smiles and likes to dance.   His favorite songs right now are Happy and You Know It, Old MacDonald, and strangely, “Hey Soul Sister” by train.

-Cooper is starting to love animals and especially Old MacDonald had a farm.  He gets really excited about the horses, and he tries to make the cow sound for moooooo!   He loves his baby Einstein video about animals right now so much.

- If you say “no” to Cooper, he stops what he’s doing and gives you a REALLY dirty look – his face all scrunched up and points his finger at you to mimic the sign for “no”.

- Cooper now says mama, dada, mom, and “dog”.  He loves d words and says “done” for “all done”, and “down” for wanting to get down.  All the “d” words come out mostly sounding the same

- He is crawling, exploring, and cruising around couches.

- He has taken his first steps!   He isn’t walking around quite yet, but he’s taking little steps and is sooooo proud of himself.   And we’re so proud of him too!

- He’s bathing by himself and loves splashing around.

- He’s very interested in hats – his own, his daddy’s, his grandpa’s.  And likes taking them on and off.

-He loves crawling around his new baby proofed house and is having great fun exploring!   He especially likes bathrooms, and standing up and banging on the toilet lid like a drum.

-He likes playing “run away baby” where he will crawl really fast away from us and we will chase after him saying “run away baby” and he’ll laugh and laugh.

- He’s getting a sense of humor and thinks lots of things are funny and is starting to get that things are a joke when you’re kidding with him.

-He’s eating all kinds of new foods every day and eating little bite sized pieces with his own fingers of soft foods which he really loves.  He hasn’t met a food he doesn’t like up to this point, with the exception of avocado – the food he ate the night of his trip to the emergency room a couple months back.

-He goes to sleep in his crib, but is still making his way into our bed every night as well.  He’s still night nursing and mommy has realized that we have a real problem on our hands.   He doesn’t like to sleep for more than 3 hours at a time without waking up and nothing will sooth him back to sleep anymore besides milk.  We’re thinking that something has to be done about this soon.   We just don’t like to hear the sound of our little guy crying because we love him so darn much!

- Oh yeah, and he’s perfect in every way!  Did I mention how in love we our with our little guy.  We fall deeper and deeper every single day.   We’re  100% head over heals in love.  He lights up our whole lives!
