Every year Bruce Power puts on a summer beach party, and it goes back and forth from Kincardine and Port Elgin. This year was in Port Elgin – mommy’s childhood cottage spot. It brought back such great memories for mommy and grandma to be there – and it was amazing to share with Cooper. Mommy was going there every summer since she was just this age! In fact, mommy started walking at 10 months and went to the beach and played in the water just like Cooper her first summer, almost 35 years ago! (I will dig up a picture and put it in this blog when I get a chance, just for fun!)
The place was packed, and the kites were flying. I’ve never seen a kite before!
No beach party is complete without bare feet and some sun hats!
I love hanging out with my grandma and watching the action on the beach.
And he gets his first balloon! He knew that he wanted it right away, and banged it up and down with excitement.
Ah come on Daddy, share your beef on a bun! (Maybe next year Cooper!)
That’s okay – I love eating my watermelon anyway. It’s yummy!
Looks it’s a mini Cooper, with a mini Cooper! Maybe you can buy me one of these when I’m sixteen, eh mom and dad?
Mommy and Grandma enjoying the party and remembering all the great times in Port Eglin they’ve had. If only Great Grandma was here!
Mommy used to go on the train ride when she was little, but the line up was so long, she promised to bring me back and take me another day. That’s okay, I had fun watching it go by!
Ice-cream and a walk on the pier. Mommy says she did this every night when they were little and great grandpa bought them all ice-creams. Following in tradition, grandma picked up the tab for this one. Cooper can’t wait until next summer, when he can actually have one! Because it sure looks good.
Hats are fun! I LOVE trying them on and taking them off.
Hey -- the view from up high is pretty good!
And it’s not bad from down low, either!
Grandpa was impressed with the purple martin feeder and how many families live here.
Happy 11 Month Birthday Cooper – we hope you enjoyed your first beach party in Port Elgin!
