Mommy and Daddy have been talking and preparing to start putting Cooper in his crib for the whole night once he turns 9 months old. We have gotten into a really bad habit since moving back to Ontario (with grandma doing chemo, and daddy back and forth to Redmond) mommy broke down and started night nursing Cooper again. And now the habit has gotten out of control with him wanting to nurse 5 times throughout the night. And the past 2 weeks have been particularly bad with him deciding to sit up in the bed and move around when he is fussy. So mommy and daddy have been talking about what we should do and when we should do it to address this problem. And we decided that on his 9 month birthday, we would cut out the night nursing and begin to try to let him sleep through the night in his own crib. But it looks like he beat us to it!!! The night BEFORE his 9 month birthday, Cooper was so fussy and fidgetey at about 1am (he had been crying for about an hour), that mommy couldn’t take it anymore and carried him out of our bed and set him in his crib (actually play pen) to see what would happen. Low and behold he laid down and went to sleep!!! Mommy thought for sure it wouldn’t last, but amazingly he didn’t wake up until 5:15am! He woke up and cried and mommy went and got him, fed him, and brought him back into bed with us for his morning cuddle and a few more zzzzzz’s.
We’re sooooo proud of you Cooper. You did such a great job! And what’s even more amazing is that you let us know you were ready the night BEFORE we were going to try it! You smart little baby, always one step ahead of your mom and dad.
Congratulations Cooper!!
