Cooper hates Squash… but he LOVES it!

Last night we fed Cooper his first real food (he’s been eating rice cereal for a few weeks).

Last month when Nana was in Redmond, she and Mommy mashed and pureed a whole bunch of good stuff, and we managed to keep it frozen on the trip from Redmond to Kincardine. And last night we finally got it out – and introduced Cooper to squash.

He was pretty funny, for sure. The very first spoonful went in no problem, but about 2 seconds later he scrunched up his face like we had just given him a lime instead of a sweet squash. But he swallowed in, and craned his neck for more. This went on for about 10 minutes… every bite he would squeeze his eyes shut and pucker his mouth, but then swallow it and wait eagerly for that next spoonful. He at the whole serving!

I think we’ll stick with the squash for a few days and maybe then move on to avocado.
