He started the week by weighing in at 8.8 pounds -- what a little weed! He's almost grown 2 full pounds since he was born. He's becoming more interactive, fussing more, smiling more, staring into our eyes, and grasping items when placed in his hands. He and mommy are also getting better at feeding and eating.
Midweek, Cooper had lots of walks and enjoyed the warm outdoor weather.
Swing Time Video:
On Friday Cooper met his Great Aunt Helen, who was here from Rankin Inlet. Cooper showed off for her by staying awake nearly all day. For some reason, he was wide awake and had many happy alert hours. Up till now he's mostly been sleeping and eating, with only a very small amount of awake time. Perhaps he wanted to make the most of their visit!
On Saturday Cooper went to his first party. The Puget Sound Birth Center had their annual family picnic, and although Cooper was technically born at Evergreen Hospital, we are still clients of the birth center and were allowed to join in the fun. We saw our midwives, Heike, Jane and Andrea. And we also saw our doula Oesa and her family there along with some new friends Cooper met. Mostly though, he enjoyed sleeping through the entire thing!
On Sunday, we had a leisurely day, and then went out to happy hour to celebrate Dave's last day of paternity leave (thanks for the gift card Jim and Sue!).
