Belated Anniversary and Birthday

Between the lack of sleep, pooping, eating, and crying -- we fell asleep on our actual anniversary and decided to celebrate it a few days later instead.

Cooper was a perfect angel when we took him out to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary. We sat on the patio at Spazzo's and ate a three course dinner -- appie, main, and even dessert -- while Cooper slept soundly the whole time. What a good baby we have! And thanks for the gift certificate mom and dad!

For Lisa's birthday, due to feeding problems and infections we bailed again, but Dave wouldn't let the day go by, and so we decided to celebrate the occasion later in the week. We started the day with a walk to the coffee shop for coffee and treats that we carried to the park to have a morning picnic. Cooper loved laying out on his picnic blanket and feeling the breeze and warmth of the air. He ate and had his diaper changed twice while we enjoyed our own coffees. What a perfect way to start the day!

That night we were too tired to go out to dinner so Dave cooked me a lobster dinner in (a birthday tradition, which has been 13 years and counting!) I figured that this year with a new baby we wouldn't be able to do it, but Dave was determined not to let the tradition die. Cooper fussed right up until dinner time, and then konked out just in time to let us eat in peace -- even if it was in our pajamas. It was a perfect dinner with time to reflect on just how far we've come this year and even a few tears as it all sank in that this birthday I actually had a baby in my arms. I had nothing left to wish for when the candle on my cake came -- I have everything I've ever wanted.

We can't beleive that we are finally celebrating these fabulous milestones with a little guy of our own. He is the best anniversary and birthday present we could ever wish for
