Everlie is 4 Months Old!!!

Our little girlie is 4 months old today.  We can hardly believe it.  She has made it through the first three months of life – the fourth trimester.  And she’s doing great!

Everlie saw the doctor for her 4 month checkup. She was supposed to go on the day of her 4 month birthday (Feb 20) but all the roads were closed with bad weather, so we went on the 22nd.
Height: 26.5 inches.
Weight: 15 pounds, 14 ounces.
Dr. Duwyn said she's off the chart (literally) for height, and 95th percentile for weight. I thought they mis-measured by an inch or so, but even if they did she'd be 95th percentile for height also.
She had 2 needles for her vaccinations. Didn't make a sound on the first one (she stared nurse Shelley down the entire time) and only a little squeak on the second one. No crying at all! She did great. The physical exam was all good - she's a healthy little baby!

So what’s Everlie doing now that she’s four months???
She’s growing and changing so much – almost a completely different baby over the last 3 weeks.  She went from sleeping and eating most of the day to having almost as many waking hours as Cooper now!
Her SCHEDULE looks something like this…..
She's sleeping alot less these days, but doing pretty good to sleep at night (not through the night, but she goes right back to sleep after eating).
She usually gets out of bed with mommy around 8:00 or 9:00, and has some fun awake time playing on the floor, kicking at batting at her toys. She's pretty content during her awake time, which is a big, welcome change from when she was a month or so old.
Around 11:30 or 12:00 she'll have a bit of nap, which could last anywhere from 2 to 4 hours... then she's up again for some more play time.
Another nap around 7:00 for an hour or so, then usually up around 9:00 for an hour, before hopefully she starts sleeping for the night.
She's still feeding every 2 to 3 hours through the night, but sleeps great when she's not eating.
Also, she's still sleeping in a swaddle. As long as she likes it, we'll keep doing it.

And some of her new TRICKS include:
- Saying cooing sounds like “a-goo, and starting to say the B sound.
- She’s smiling and responding to us now and seems to know her mom and dad and her brother Cooper.
- She’s started putting things in her mouth and can now put her own soother into her mouth when placed in her hand.
- She’s still not laughing much.  We have to REALLY work for it.  And it’s still few and far between, but we’ve heard several little laughs from her and they are very cute!
- She LOVES watching Cooper, with all his energy running around.  She can’t seem to take her eyes off him.
- She’s becoming interested in food now and watching us eat.   She also seems to want to sit up more and watch the world go by.
- She splashes in the bath - like crazy. The surrounding area is soaking wet when she's done her bath.
- She kicks her toys when lying on her back - uses her feet more than her hands.
- She's really craning her neck up when doing tummy time, which she seems to enjoy.

We love you EVERLIE!!  HAPPY FOUR MONTH BIRTHDAY!!
