Bye-bye 4th trimester (snif snif snif) -- Cooper is officially no longer a newborn!
Mommy had a hard time with this one. She loved the newborn stage so much, she never ever wanted it to end. We both loved every single second and can't believe the first three months are over already! Where did our little fetus go?

We have noticed big changes in Cooper in the last week alone and we're seeing him turn into an interactive baby with a little personality.
He's developed some new sounds aside from just crying, most notably the gurgle and the pterodactyl scream. He loves to hear us talk and then talk back. He's becoming interactive and making all kinds of vowels sounds... ooh, eee, iiiiii.....

He's smiling at us and holding our gaze. Tracking us to both sides when we move now. And is even able to see us across the room. When smiled at, he loves to smile back and charm us!
He likes his toys now, reaches out for them (still overshoots, but sometimes gets them!), and hangs onto them when placed in his hands. He tries hard to grab things and when he does he holds on tight -- he's even got mommy's hair a few times now. And he loves the feels of soft things and different fabrics of his blankets.

He has not only found his voice, but his hands. He loves to stick his whole hands in his mouth and bite and suck on them. He is also bringing the toys placed in his hands directly into his mouth. It won't be long now before we will have to be sure he doesn't grab and choke on small objects as we will need to start baby proofing his surroundings. He's starting to drool now and like to bite on his rubber soothers and mommy and daddy's fingers. We think it might be pre-teething -- oh no! And he still really likes to have him gums massaged, so who knows when we will see our first pearly white come through.
He's still eating every two hours throughout the day -- sometimes stretching it to three hours a few times a day. He's going to bed around 10:30 -11:30 and waking up around 5:30 (usually around 6 hours - sometimes 5 and sometimes 7) to eat --- He still fusses at times and cries, but he's having more and more happy awake time and really playing and talking and practicing wiggling around. He still only falls asleep in our arms or his swing at this point, but he's requiring less bouncing and soothing when he's fussy.

He's rolling over -- from tummy to back, and from back to side. He's trying really hard to roll from back to tummy, but his arm is still in the way. With a little help from mom and dad though, he's able to do it. He's really arching his back quite a bit and turning from side to side and we can tell it won't be long (!) before he's He's scooting a touch across his play mat during his tummy time now. He wiggles his butt high in the sky and scoots forward a little. He's even barring weight on his legs for 30 seconds at a time!

We just can't believe how fast time is going and that his newborn stage is now over!

He's starting to hold his head up, and likes to be held upright in our arms rather than carried laying down. He still enjoys time on his back to look up at his gym toys and he has conversations with himself and looks around marveling at everything around him. He also enjoys being propped up now too, and taking it in from a different angle. He's becoming a pro at his tummy time and staying with his head up for several minutes at a time.
