And it’s all MOMMY’S FAULT!
Last Friday, mommy accidentally shut the laundry room door on Cooper’s finger. She was scurrying him out of the laundry room with an armful of clothes in her hand and shut the door behind her to keep him out of the room. She had no idea that he ran behind her and already had his little finger in the hinge part of the door. Mommy shut the door and walked away with the laundry in her hand to the bedroom. Cooper cried and screamed and mommy thought it was just because she locked him out the room that he was having fun playing in, but when she came back around the corner, she was HORRIFIED to see that Cooper was attached to the door, his little finger caught. It was the WORST feeling in the whole world! She ran and got him out, but the damage had been done. She called grandpa, who was on his way over and they rushed him up to the hospital. We called daddy and he met us there. Cooper’s finger looked awful but they xrayed it and confirmed it wasn’t broken. He did really well that night and was using his finger again and has been using it fine all week now. But today the doctor called and wanted me to bring him up because he had a look at the xrays and one of them confirmed that the finger was fractured. He was going to tape the finger, but said it can be more trouble for a toddler than it’s worth. He looked it over and said it was set fine, and that we didn’t need to tape it after all, and we could just bring him back in another month to see how it is healing.
