Ringing in 2011, then Goodbye Florida

December 31st was Daddy’s 38th birthday! And we had a great family day on the beach, and a wonderful shrimp dinner with nana and papa.

Ringing in 2011, was really hard without grandma around to celebrate with us this year. Last year we all rung it in together and toasted to an amazing year ahead. We just had Cooper, we had decided to move home, and life seemed utterly perfect. I can still remember raising our glasses with grandma, so excited for 2010 and looking forward to kicking off our new future together. And now, she’s not even here. 2010 was not anything what we expected, and so going into 2011, we feel unsettled and incomplete. But we have learned that we must open our hearts and try to make the most of every day. So here we are, after celebrating a lovely birthday, just the three of us, having a very quiet night, ringing in the New Year together. It’s not what we wanted, but together we’ll need to move forward one step at a time.

The next day, we enjoyed one more beach day before heading back to Kincardine. And it was the best beach day yet. The sun was out and the temperature was hot.

Cooper spends his last night in Florida, hanging out watching video’s while we pack up the car for the long drive home.

Bye bye Florida.

Now, for another LOOOONG drive back to Kincardine. And I’m happy to report that we drove 23 hours straight through and Cooper did fantastic! What a good boy he is.

We love you Cooper. Happy 2011 – we hope for amazing wonderful things for you this year and can’t wait to watch you learn and grow.
