And suddenly he’s off! Cooper is growing and changing so fast these days it’s hard to keep up. Literally! We’re on our feet chasing him around all day long and he loves every minute of it. Yes, life with a 12 months old is tiring but so much fun!
Cooper went to Port Elgin a few weeks ago with his grandma and grandpa, who wanted to make sure he got on the train before the end of the season. What a fun long weekend he had and he LOVED the train! His eyes lit up like the 4th of July, and now every time he sees a train in a book or on TV he goes wild.
Chug-a-chug-a-chug-a-chug-a-choo-choo!
On the train and ready for my ride!
Here comes the Engine!
And off we go!
That was FUN! And the captain even let me wear his hat for the picture!
And that’s not all Cooper has done so far in September. He’s doing all kinds of fun things.
Here he is learning to build blocks with Curtis. He used to just knock them down, but now he’s starting to build them up!
Of course, more fun with his tractor!
And hats and hoods are a big hit right now too!
Cooper even drew his first picture!
Look at the concentration!
Look Daddy – watch me!
Here’s the finished product! Okay, mommy drew the stick figure and a couple scribbles, but Cooper scribbled the rest!
Cooper has been having tons of fun playing outside. Looking at his pumpkin growing, picking and smelling flowers, ringing the wind chimes, and of course having fun on his tractor!
One of the best parts about it, is that while Cooper is riding his play tractor, he gets to watch the builders next door actually bulldoze and drive real ones. He is having so much fun watching our neighbors house get built. It’s amazing to see how interested he is!
His nana came for a visit and got to come to his annual neighbourhood block party.
He had so much fun and met lots of new playmates in the neighbourhood. We’ve also continued to meet some moms around town and go to some baby groups, so he’s been having lots of fun meeting new friends.
Nothing like a goodnight cuddle with nana.
Cooper checks out his pumpkin.
I think he approves!
And look – he made a turkey out of him with daddy for the front porch.
Cooper is also learning to feed himself. He’s having lots of bite sized meals that he picks up and eats with his hands, and he’s learning to master the spoon. The spoon is a messy one, but he’s having fun trying!
And of course, a little dinner playtime never hurts either!
Trucks, trucks, and more trucks. Ah the fun of little boys!
Sitting in his jammies on the couch.
But not for long, this little man has places to be, and things to do! Now that he’s fully mobile, he barely ever sits still. In fact, mommy just follows him from room to room all day long, while he sees what kind of mischief he can get into and has fun exploring his house.
Here I go!
That’s right Cooper – good boy! He’s almost mastered turning around to get down. And he’s QUICK!
Here he is giving Phin a treat.
Hey wait a minute – you’re not allowed in there! That’s Phin’s food. He’s also mastered how to say no no no no in a cute little voice, as mommy says it a hundred times throughout the day when he’s touching something he shouldn’t be.
Busted! What are you doing in mommy’s closet.
I see you!
He loves taking things out of drawers and baskets – hats, socks, shoes. It’s all so much fun!
Gotcha! Are you turning on the bath-tub?
Be careful Cooper – don’t fall off!
No problems mom – I just want to see what I weigh first.
No no Cooper, not in the shower.
Maybe I can sneak when she’s looking the other way!
In and out of bathrooms, seems to be the highlight of the day. Flushing toilets, getting his ducks, opening drawers, you name it. The bathroom is a Super Duper fun place.
Hey mister – what are you doing in there???
Got your ducks?
Still a TV converter and Phone man. In fact, he ‘pretend’ calls nana a hundred times a day!
Check out Cooper’s new yoga pose – downward dog. PEEKS! I see you.
He has just started doing this new move – and he digs it!
I don’t think he can EVER pass by the coffee table without picking up the converters. It’s QUITE the love affair actually.
And speaking of love affairs, he LOVES to kiss people. He loves kissing grandma and grandpa and mommy and daddy, and lately he’s taken to kissing his other little baby friends and stuffed animals, especially cuddle bear. But since cuddle bear is nowhere is sight, he goes for his pal Wellington! Leans in for a kiss.
The life of a 12 month old has been pure joy and Cooper makes every day so much fun. He’s learning and growing in leaps and bounds and we can’t wait to see what he can do next! And he’s even sleeping the whole night in his crib now! Of course, we always still have a good morning cuddle – the best part of the day.
WE LOVE YOU COOPER! 12 months old and ready to take on the world!
