Cooper's First 10 Days of Life

1 Day Old:

Cooper spent the first 2 days in the hospital, where he has several firsts -- first bath, first feeding, first poop. Evergreen was great, but we were all glad to get out of there and back home. It was exhausting having so many tests and hospital staff coming in and out.

2 Days Old:

So great to finally be back at home with Cooper.
Grandma and Grandpa and Nana helped out with groceries and cleaning and taking shifts throughout the night watching Cooper so that mommy and daddy could finally get some sleep. Thanks everyone!

3 Days Old:
More fun with grandma, grandpa and nana -- and Cooper's first walk!

4 Days Old:
Grandma and Grandpa and Nana had to leave today :( It was sad to see them go and Cooper already misses them so much. Now let's see if mommy and daddy can survive on their own.

5 Days Old:

6 Days Old:
Today Cooper had his first professional photoshoot. He expressed his displeasure by pooping right into dad's hands, and followed that up with a pee shower.
Check out the photographer's blog post here: http://onetreephotography.blogspot.com/2009/08/meet-cooper.html for a few of her favorites. More to come later... we can't wait to see the rest.

7 Days Old:
Cooper's one week birthday -- can hardly believe it! Lots of fun in between doctors' appointments.

And we finally got the video camera going:
Sweet, Sleepy Cooper (video):

8 Days Old:

Cooper had a check-up today and weighed in at 7 pounds 2 ounces. The lactation consultant said that Cooper is at the head of his class in the eating department, as it usually takes 2 weeks for babies to gain back thier birth weight. Way to go Cooper!

9 Days Old:

Cooper was 9 nine days old on mommy and daddy's 9th wedding anniversary -- we've given each other the best gift ever this year! We spent the day going for a walk, going to a parent and baby class, and getting a little sunshine. All in all, it was a fabulous day. We were going to try to go out for dinner, but we were all too exhausted. Maybe in the next couple days!

10 Days Old:
Cooper had his first pediatrician appointment today and weighed in at 7 pounds, 7 ounces. He's growing like a little weed and mommy is secretly thinking of not feeding him anymore so he'll stop growing and stay a little wee baby forever!
