Family Day

Family Day was a strange mix of emotions.  I cannot believe it’s been two years since Grandma’s death, and four years since Cooper was placed inside me as an embryo.   I still can’t believe that the two things happened on the same day.   But Grandma waited until the very end of the day on family day to leave this world because she wanted to spend one last special day with us before going.   And I know that she is still here with us in spirit every day thereafter.

We spent Family Day celebrating the amazing day Cooper was placed inside me, remembering the day Grandma left us, and thanking god for the new addition of Everlie in our lives.

We started the day with a morning walk along the boardwalk, Grandma’s favorite place to walk.  We started at her bench and walked all the way to Bean’s Bistro for a hot chocolate.

It was an amazing day for a walk – cold but bright and sunny.

Walking along the boardwalk always makes us feel so great.  The water was calm and blue.

Everlie was all bundled up in her stroller asleep – nice and snug.

What an amazing place we live – Grandma loved it here.  And it’s easy to see why.

We walked past the lighthouse and up towards downtown….

Cooper got his own hot chocolate with whipped cream and we toasted to the day he came into our lives – he is SUCH A MIRACLE!   And we toasted to Grandma, who is looking down and celebrating along with us.

Cheers Grandpa, I love you!

Even Everlie wanted to join in the fun – hey, I want some milk too!

Afterwards we walked around downtown and did a little shopping.   Cooper had fun in the toystore.

We went out to lunch at the Bruce Steakhouse, and later that night we we had a hot-tub outside.  Brrrrr, it’s cold out here, but nice and toasty in the tub!

Grandpa read Cooper a story and we tucked him into bed.

Cooper had a sleepover at Grandpa’s…. but first a tickle!

Where’s Cooper?

Here I am!

And after Cooper went to bed, we all watched Under the Tuscan Sun – Grandma’s favorite movie.

Grandpa and his little sweetie had a snuggle.

We love you Cooper and are so glad you came home to us that day and decided to snuggle in my tummy and grow big and Strong.

We miss you Grandma so much, every single day.   We wish you were here, but you are always in our hearts.  And we carry you with us and try to remember to do all the little things that you taught us that make life so special.
